Love-filled life began with sports talk

Sports often bring strangers together and that could not be truer for The Village at Castle Pines residents Chierstin and Mitchell Roth.
It was 2015, at a bar in Colorado Springs, when Chierstin heard chatter around a Stanley Cup playoff game that was incorrect. Chierstin, a sports reporter and anchor, stepped in to set the fellas straight on their sports talk. From that moment on, a friendship was born with Mitchell that later grew into a love story.
In 2022, the two committed to a relationship and tied the knot in February of this year.
“A week before our wedding, we stumbled across our current home for sale and fell in love,” said Chierstin. “The breathtaking views and sense of community in Castle Pines reeled us in; we went under contract on our wedding day!”
Chierstin is originally from Medina, Ohio and graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. She spent nearly a decade as a sportscaster in Phoenix, Knoxville and Colorado Springs. In Phoenix, she anchored an NFL postgame show, the NBA finals and the Phoenix Open. While in Phoenix, the two-time Emmy Award winner stepped away from media to try something different, working in communications for the Arizona government, gained her real estate license and launched her own social media management company. She was the first, full-time female sports anchor in Colorado Springs. In 2025, Chierstin joined CBS News Colorado as multi-media journalist in Denver.
Mitchell is a sixth generation Coloradan. He has his family all around, including Auntie Rowe who is celebrating her 107th birthday this year. Mitchell graduated from Liberty University with a business degree. He is an entrepreneur who is the cofounder and CEO of Roth Brands (soon to be rebranded Culinova), a fast-growing prepared foods manufacturer with distribution in more than 12,000 grocery stores nationwide. The company is currently preparing for an IPO.
Separately, Mitchell co-founded VENU Holding Corporation with his father, JW Roth, who is the CEO. VENU is a premier developer of live music, hospitality and properties, including the Ford Amphitheater and Roth’s Sea & Steak, both in Colorado Springs.
Besides working on his business and spending time with Chierstin, Mitchell loves to play golf and cheer on the Broncos. He explained that Chierstin’s hobby is picking up new hobbies. “She is always trying something new whether its golf, tennis, running, cooking or learning DIY.”
The couple has two dogs, a 4-year-old beagle/Alaskan Malamute mix called Newman and a newly-adopted mini poodle, Benny. “Our dogs are the light of our lives and bring us so much joy,” said Chierstin. “Much of what we do revolves around them.”
Chierstin concluded that as newlyweds their goal is to “create a solid foundation for a Christ-centered marriage. We’re passionate about building a fun, adventurous, love-filled life spent with family and supporting each other’s passions.”
