“The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it” is the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote that Rina Castanon puts on the invitation to her annual ornament exchange and luncheon in Forest Park. The third annual exchange took place on December 13 and included twenty women who mainly live within walking distance – all who celebrated the season in style.

After lunch, Castanon gathered the group and said, “The ornament exchange is close to my heart. It’s about celebrating friendship and knowing that each friend took the time to choose a special ornament to share today.” Each attendee presented their ornament to the person who’s name they chose out of a basket and said a little bit about why they chose that ornament. Jen Terrones, a close friend who has attended all three exchanges said, “I admire Rina because she is all about friends, family, and faith.”
