Support BREA and a local farmer

Information provided by BREA

Delicious Jonathan apples will be delivered to the Castle Pines area on or around September 14.  The Buffalo Ridge Education Alliance (BREA) is selling full bushels – perfect for canning and dehydrating (approximately 85-100 apples) for $35 a bushel or $20 for a half bushel.

Colorado apple farmer John McCallister, the uncle of 80108 resident Valerie Miller, has maintained this orchard for 40 years.  McCallister partnered with BRE to provide fresh-picked apples and has agreed to donate $5.00 for each bushel sold and $2.50 for each half bushel in an effort to support the school.

The expectation is for the apples to be ready and delivered to the farmer’s market being held at BRE on September 14 and 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  However, Mother Nature may have other plans.
