On March 15, the Castle Pines community came together at Pino’s Italian Kitchen to raise money in memory of three fallen sheriff’s deputies, Deputy Micah Flick of El Paso County, Deputy Heath Gumm of Adams County and Deputy Zackari Parrish of Douglas County, who all lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Eat for a Cause event was organized by Joseph Sabia of Pino’s Italian Kitchen and Corbin Wagoner of RE/MAX Elite. Ten percent of the lunch and dinner revenue was donated to the Fallen Officer Funds in Douglas, El Paso and Adams Counties. Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock was on hand to greet customers, and Deputy Parrish’s patrol car was parked in front of the restaurant.

At the time of printing, more than $7,000 was raised. Read more about the Douglas County Fallen Officer Fund in the December 2016 issue of The Connection.
