Local window covering designer and staging expert Sheri Stouffer of Finishing Touches was the proud first place award recipient in a recent design competition held in Las Vegas in February. Stouffer was honored in the category of Specialty Window Fashion at the prestigious 2014 Envision Design and Ingenuity Workroom Competition, presented by Windows Fashion Vision magazine.
Stouffer, who lives in Castle Pines with her husband and son, has been an independent business owner for the past fifteen years and the family moved to Castle Pines from Tampa, Florida in 2011. “We love the beauty of the trees and mountain views, the quaintness of this area, the trails outside our door, the people … we love it all!” exclaimed Stouffer.
With her business Finishing Touches, Stouffer specializes in window coverings and staging, where she enjoys taking what the homeowner already owns and re-purposing and reusing it in different areas of the home to create an amazing atmosphere.
Stouffer’s win at the design competition was an affirmation of her talents and work ethic. The competition is considered the “Academy Awards” of the window covering industry and recognizes the best of the best in a variety of design categories. Design experts reviewed more than two hundred entries from the UK, Canada and the U.S., and Stouffer was thrilled to be recognized as the first place winner. “I was so excited and proud!” remarked Stouffer. “My heart and soul goes into every project, because I love what I do.”
Stouffer’s talents and passion for her work are evident in her designs and her engaging and joyful personality is a pleasure for her clients. “Since I am a one-person workroom and I handle every aspect of the job, I love the great ‘reveal’ day,” remarked Stouffer. “All the hours of creating a unique treatment, selecting the perfect fabric, determining the best construction for the design, and then the final installation lead to the excitement of seeing the finished product in the client’s beautiful home.” To learn more about Finishing Touches or to reach Sheri Stouffer, visit www.finishingtouchesinc.com.
