The Connection received an inquiry about the large pile of dirt and equipment that is currently located on the northeast corner of N. Daniels Park Road and Santa Fe Drive (see inset).  According to Castle Pines Metropolitan District Manager Jeff Coufal, the equipment and dirt are part of a project to reconstruct a pond on the Castle Pines Golf Course, and the excess material from the pond is temporarily being stored on the vacant lot.  Mike McAdams, CFO for the Castle Pines Golf Club said, “It is our intention to return the landscape of our land to substantially the way it was; this is just a temporary solution while the dredged pond material is drying out.”  McAdams also noted that IREA has been upgrading its service up Daniels Park Road during the past few months, which has accounted for some of the additional equipment as well.
