A trot on Thanksgiving morning
The Esperanza neighborhood organized its first turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning. More than 35 participants traveled the one-mile loop, which began on Esperanza Drive, continued up Daniels Gate Road to Monarch Boulevard then returned home, where hot chocolate, mimosas and donuts awaited. Kids who crossed the finish line received medals. Passing cars honked and waved at the trotters, many of whom were dressed up in Thanksgiving attire.
“It was a cold but sunny morning with our neighbors, and then we headed home to cook with our loved ones,” stated Ashley Jubenville. “This will become a new Thanksgiving Day tradition for our Esperanza family!”
