Castle Pines Youth Advisory Council Raises Money for Children’s Hospital

by Timi Aguilar

The Castle Pines Youth Advisory Council (YAC) raised almost $600 to benefit Children’s Hospital at its first “Walk in the Pines” event on Saturday, June 6. The walk had around 35 attendees who participated in the two-mile walk on a sunny Saturday morning. Mayor Maureen Shul kicked-off the event and worked directly with student volunteers.

“We did this fun-run to benefit Children’s Hospital, but we also want to help other groups in the near future. We hope to be more engaged in Castle Pines North and hold bigger events and involve the community more next time,” said Youth Advisory Council member John Hutchinson.

The Youth Advisory Council will present Children’s Hospital with funds raised at their monthly meeting at DazBog in June.
