Council deems Lagae South eligible for annexation
by Lisa Crockett
In December, the city council of Castle Pines North (CPN) approved Resolution 09-91, declaring the property known as Lagae South eligible for annexation into the city of Castle Pines North.
Lagae South – currently in unincorporated Douglas County – is an area of approximately 354 acres, located west of Interstate 25, north of Happy Canyon Road and east of Castle Pines Village.
“The next step in the annexation process would be for Council to consider an Annexation Ordinance,” said Sam Bishop, CPN’s Director of Planning and Zoning.
According to Bishop, no date has been discussed for this meeting. When, and if, an Annexation Ordinance is ready for consideration, CPN will be required to notice this meeting in accordance with state law, stated Bishop.
