Eleven year old Brooke Jacobsen, resident of Daniels Gate, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Colorado Pageant to be held on July 20 at the Marriott DTC.

The National American Miss Pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, with five different age divisions. Jacobsen will be participating in the pre-teen 10-12 age division along with other outstanding young ladies from Colorado.

The winner of the Pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s future leaders and equipping them with life long skills. Each year the pageant nationally awards $1.5 million in cash, scholarships and other prizes.

All activities and competitions are kept age appropriate. Girls younger than the age of 12 are not allowed to wear make up and there is not a swimsuit competition. The Pageant program is based on inner beauty, the importance of developing self confidence, learning good sportsmanship, and setting and achieving personal goals.

Jacobsen’s activities include soccer, competitive cheerleading, Denver Bronco junior cheerleading, and snowboarding. She also enjoys reading books such as the Twilight series, and just hanging out with friends and family. Her sponsors include Royal Chic Boutique and Jacobsen Realty.
