It is time fore golf at The Ridge

By Elean Gersack

Golf is in full swing at The Ridge at Castle Pines North, and Director of Golf Instruction Dennis Murray has his 2012 program set. Offerings include on-course playing lessons for kids and adults, such as junior play lessons Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.; junior clinics at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays; junior golf academy; parent-child play lessons; and golf for ladies.

Junior golf academy starts June 9. These three-day golf clinics are offered almost weekly through the first week of August for kids ages six to seventeen. Six- to nine-year-olds play for one hour each day and ten- to seventeen-year-olds play for two hours per day.

For juniors capable of playing nine holes, parent-child playing lessons are planned for June 7 and June 14 at 5:30 p.m. and are limited to the first eight golfers.

Golf for ladies clinics are on the books for each month, too. Clinics are June 19, 20, 21, 26, 28; July 11, 18, 19, 25 and 26; and August 1, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 at 2 p.m. Coach Murray will cover etiquette, playing lessons and golf cart driving. Up to six students per lesson.

According to Murray, his UNCOMPLICATED GOLF academy at The Ridge Golf Course brings students into the world of natural learning, using techniques that make it easier to improve skills and play better golf.  On-course play lessons make it easier for students to learn how to play the game, with greens/cart fees included with lessons.

Corporate coaches club memberships and programs for couples, families, and pass holders are also available, and new programs combine range memberships with golf instruction.
