The students and staff at Rocky Heights Middle School (RHMS) are excited about the new school year. Schedule pick up was held on July 28 with more than 1,100 kids and their parents coming to pick up their schedules, get their new student id’s, and most importantly, find out what team they are on. Eighth grade student, Kate Landis, commented, “I’m super excited that I get to be on a team with all of my favorite friends!”

RHMS has a record 1,334 students this school year with the sixth grade class being the largest in the school’s history. On August 9, the sixth graders had their first school day to themselves at RHMS to learn their way around and understand their schedules.

Excitement was in the air as the Assistant Principals Kelly Kirkpatrick and James McMurphy greeted the new sixth graders. Additional staff members
honored the new students with cheering and pom poms as they entered the school.

The staff and administration are ready to share their philosophy of ROK: Respect it, Own it, be Kind, with this great new group of kids.
