Santa was the star attraction at The Village at Castle Pines

Article and photos by Lynn Zahorik

Bundled up in fur from his head to his toes, Santa delighted kids of all ages when he arrived at The Village at Castle Pines on December 3.  Festive holiday attire was abundant as friends and family welcomed in the season at the annual Santa in the Pines event sponsored by LIV Sotheby’s International Realty and the merchants in The Village.  On a chilly morning, faces were truly aglow as families lined up for photos with rosy cheeked Santa and Mrs. Claus.  “This is one of our most delightful community events because it brings families together to enjoy the festive elements of the holiday season.  Everyone loves seeing Santa!” remarked Debbie Salazar, owner of SmartLife Audio Video in The Village.

Neighbors enjoyed horse drawn carriage rides and Christmas caroling, compliments of the talented Rock Canyon High School choirs.  Children in tow, guests visited each of the fine stores to experience delectable treats and goodies.  Many of the more than 200 attendees got started on their shopping lists while others escaped the chill by stopping in for a bite at one of the quaint restaurants.

This annual festive celebration was the perfect way to kick off the season of giving.
