Shred It

Residents in the Castle Pines community came in droves to take advantage of the Shred-It event in June sponsored by Allstate Tammy Lopez Agency and The Castle Pines Connection newspaper. “We saw more than 60 cars and disposed of nearly 8,000 pounds of paper,” said Tammy Lopez, coordinator of the event.

The event lasted two-and-a-half hours and saw everything from a small wastebasket of papers to entire truck beds full; some parked and unloaded, and some just drove through and dropped off. “My favorite was the woman who brought a roller suitcase full of documents and wheeled it up to the canister. She dumped her load and waved goodbye as it disappeared into the jaws of the shredder,” said Lopez. “We had a great time meeting local residents and plan to do this event with the Connection again next year!”
