On October 17, Park Meadows Cosmetic Surgery celebrated Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA DAY USA) at Lone Tree Arts Center. BRA DAY USA is an initiative designed to promote education, awareness and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. It is a collaborative effort between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, plastic surgeons specializing in breast surgery, nurse navigators, medical device industry representatives, and breast cancer support groups.

Dr. Christopher Williams and Castle Pines resident Dr. Jeremy Williams hosted the event. “It is our intent to let every woman that is touched by breast cancer know what her reconstruction options are,” noted Williams. While not every woman that has had a mastectomy is a candidate for reconstructive surgery, it is important for women to find out their options.
