Treeline Pass celebrates five years

Treeline Pass held its fifth anniversary celebration at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Friday, September 26. Pictured: Amy Zupon, Gabe Koroluk (co-founder), Dr. Ellen Roy Elias (Heartwood Award Recipient), Amy Warren (co-founder), Adam Warren, Kari Ansay (co-founder) and Matt Ansay.

It was a picturesque evening at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Friday, September 26. The Village at Castle Pines residents Kari and Matt Ansay co-hosted a “Garden Gala” to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Treeline Pass (TLP), a nonprofit day program for adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Kari is one of the co-founders of TLP.

Longtime meteorologist Mike Nelson and his wife, Cindy, emceed the event. A quartet played arrangements of soothing sounds and guests received handmade corsages and boutonnieres.

An especially touching moment came when Dr. Ellen Roy Elias, director of the special care clinic at Children’s Hospital Colorado, was honored as TLP’s first Heartwood Award recipient.

“Dr. Elias has dedicated more than 40 years to advancing research, care and advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Through her pioneering work, she has transformed the landscape of support for people with autism and developmental disabilities, making the world more inclusive, compassionate and equitable for countless individuals and their families,” shared Kari.

Money raised from the gala will help bridge the gap from the limited Medicaid funds TLP receives. “Thanks to our incredible community, we raised more than $76,000 for direct support of Treeline Pass and the vital programs and services we provide our clients,” thanked Kari.

TLP is committed to empowering adults with autism and developmental disabilities to cultivate lives rooted in purpose, joy, and growth in an inclusive community environment. For additional information, visit treelinepass.org.
