Two New Private Schools Set to Open this Fall

Aspen Academy, a preschool through eighth grade private pre-paratory academy, will open in the Fall of 2005 at its new campus in Highlands Ranch.
The school’s academic environment will feature the Personalized Instruction Program, which ensures that each of its students’ unique gifts and talents are fully realized. A maximum student to teacher ratio of 12:1 will ensure the highest level of personalized instruction possible.
The Instructional Philosophy at Aspen Academy is the Socratic Method or Inquiry Based Learning, a process of teaching by question and answer as well as investigation. Flexible Grouping allows a teacher to group students according to ability levels, interest and learning styles. Community service, traditional school year calendar, and school uniforms are other features of Aspen Academy.

Woodlands Academy, a new, private intermediate-middle school, is scheduled to open this fall near the Recreation Center in Castle Rock.
The school, created for fourth through eighth grades, is designed to prepare students for the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Honors programs in public and private high schools.
The school is designed to serve independently motivated students and will feature class sizes no larger than 15.
Interested students will need to perform at grade level on an entrance exam to be considered for enrollment.
The school will expose students to all core curriculum classes, providing an opportunity for elective courses while emphasizing math, technology, science, literacy skills, history and foreign language.
