X Drive Classic takes its 12th flight

The X Drive Classic always starts with a group photo in an X formation to signify Fragile X, a genetic intellectual disability and the most common single gene linked to autism.

On July 27, 144 golfers teed up at The Club at Pradera in Parker for 18 holes and a whole lot of fun for a great cause. The 12th annual X Drive Classic sold out before registration officially opened this year.

The event brings together family, friends and community to raise awareness for Fragile X Syndrome and to support The Joshua School and Treeline Pass. These nonprofits assist children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities.

Two sets of foursomes started at each hole. It was a scramble to the end, which resulted in more than $65,000 in fundraising dollars. The day would not have been possible without support from sponsors and volunteers.

The Village at Castle Pines residents and X Drive Classic founders Kari and Matt Ansay are beyond grateful for the year after year support. “It is truly amazing each and every year,” said Kari.
