A family night at Duke’s for a great cause

Children’s Colorado Hospital Ambassador Preston Ihme (white t-shirt) is surrounded by his family at Duke’s Restaurant and joined by Miss Colorado 2013 Hannah Porter, Duke’s waitress Mallorie Ihme (also Preston’s sister); and Duke’s manager, Mary Breeding.

On July 16, Miss Colorado 2013 Hannah Porter enjoyed an evening at Duke’s Steakhouse (Duke’s) with a family of six. The family was that of Children’s Hospital Colorado Ambassador and cancer survivor, Preston. Preston turns eleven this month … happy birthday, Preston!

During the Ihme Family Golf Tournament in June, Porter donated her time for a family dinner outing as part of an auction to support Children’s Colorado. The family who won the dinner, in turn, donated it to Preston and his family.

The golf tournament is hosted by Castle Pines resident Steve Ihme and his family. This year it raised more than $14,000 to support the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Colorado. Over the years, the annual tournament has raised more than $118,000.

Duke’s welcomed the group and donated a wonderful dinner. Ihme’s daughter, Mallorie, who happens to be a waitress at Duke’s, took the lead and served up a great evening!
