Temperatures are dropping, and did you know the number one clothing need of those experiencing homelessness is socks?

The Sock It To ‘Em campaign is a 501(c)(3) organization that began in 2012 by Castle Pines resident Susan Elizabeth Lee and her friend Phillis Shimamoto. The campaign is now in 39 states and has delivered more than 250,000 pairs of new socks to those in need. In 2016, with the help of the Castle Pines community, the campaign delivered 127,000 pairs of socks in Colorado to more than 90 shelters, services and agencies.

Until December 31, members of the community can drop off new socks for men, women and children at the following locations: MiYO Cafe – 858 W. Happy Canyon Road, Castle Rock (and get a free drink for bringing socks) and Leading Edge Physical Therapy – 7280 Lagae Rd., Unit F (Castle Pines Parkway & Lagae).
