Timber Trail fundraiser seeks sponsors

By Lisa Crockett

For the second year in a row, Timber Trail Elementary School is holding a “Move-a-Thon” fundraiser to help raise money to fund school programs. The event, called “Move and Groove to Support our School,” will be held in September and will feature a variety of movement and exercise activities for students to perform to earn money. Sponsorships are available for businesses and individuals to support the event, which will be held at the school on September 14.

Riding the wave of the success of last year’s Move-a-Thon, event organizers have set an ambitious goal to raise $75,000. Money raised will be used for a variety of purposes, including the purchase of math workbooks for every student, paying a librarian for the school library, purchasing technology for classrooms, and upgrading the school sound system.

“We love that this fundraiser promotes good health,” said the event’s co-chair Brandi Tsuchimoto. “The money we raise will offset budget reductions.”

Sponsorships are available at various price points with varying benefits at different levels. For details on sponsorships and more information about the 2012 Move-a-Thon, visit www.timbertrailparents.org.
