Colorful creations at library duct tape class

Sticky situations were the name of the game at a class on creative uses of duct tape at the Castle Pines Library last month. Designed to be a draw for so-called “tweens” in the area, the library offered the class based on the book “The Kids’ Guide to Duct Tape Projects” by Sheri Bell-Rehwoldt.
“Classes like this are a fun way to engage and bring patrons to the library,” said librarian Kyra Hahn, who led the class. “It’s great to see people come and we hope to offer more programming here as attendance at our programs increase.”
Participants made useful items like wallets and picture frames as well as home décor like faux flowers – entirely out of duct tape in a variety of splashy colors and prints.
“I came to have fun and learn something new,” said American Academy student Caleb Hanchett, who stopped by after school to make a photo frame.
