Rooted in Tapestry Hills

Family, work, play, sports and laughter are what the Jaeger family is all about. And it all began in North Dakota.

Michelle and Paul Jaeger’s roots trace back hundreds of miles to Minot, North Dakota. Though growing up in the same hometown and attending the same schools, their story together did not start until crossing paths at the University of North Dakota. Paul moved to Colorado shortly after graduation in 1996, with Michelle following two years later. The couple married in 2002 at a small Catholic chapel in Cascade near The North Pole amusement park with their reception at the Phantom Canyon Brewery in Colorado Springs. Michelle recalled, “At the time, it felt like the most ‘Colorado’ way to celebrate.”

After a few years in Highlands Ranch, they found their home in the Tapestry Hills neighborhood in 2008. They arrived just two weeks before their son, Charlie, was born, joining his 2-and-a-half-year-old sister Addie.

Michelle refers to her family as a “permanent structure” in Tapestry Hills. “We’ve been here so long, while others have moved away,” she explained. The big draw to their home was the lush green scenery and abundant wildlife. Michelle and Paul love that they share their backyard with elk, deer and the occasional bear or bobcat.

Addie (20) and Charlie (17) cherish their hometown, having attended Timber Trail Elementary, Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School (RCHS). After graduating in 2024, Addie is now a junior at Gonzaga University and just returned from a semester abroad at Bond University in Australia. Meanwhile, Charlie, an incoming junior at RCHS, will be busy this summer with baseball and team travel.

“We’ve spent a lot of time at our kids sports over the years,” said Michelle. Between school sports and clubs like Castle Pines Athletics and Slammers Baseball, their schedule has been a non-stop rotation of soccer, basketball, baseball, football, track and flag football.

Between Paul’s career in endovascular medical device sales and Michelle’s calling as a registered dietitian since 1998, the Jaegers stay busy but prioritize time together. Usually that involves some kind of activity. They enjoy playing pickleball, golf and cheering on the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. On quieter days you will find them at local food trucks, concerts in the park or walking their two dogs: Moose, a 7-year-old Bernedoodle and Louie, a 5-year-old Scottish Terrier. “We enjoy our time together and making one another laugh. We have a lot of family jokes,” concluded Michelle.
