With eighty clubs … something for everyone

Rock Canyon High School students engaged with various clubs and activities at the annual Activities and Clubs Fair held on August 27.

At the beginning of the school year, Rock Canyon High School (RCHS) hosted a club fair offering students a chance to explore the many extracurricular options available.

With more than 80 clubs, RCHS provides opportunities for students to engage with others, develop leadership skills and further their interests. From academics to the arts, business interests to helping in the community, students can easily find a club that aligns with their passions.

Clubs like Science Olympiad and Robotics are perfect for students passionate about hands-on science and technology. Business and entrepreneurship-minded students can join Distributive Education Clubs of America or Future Business Leaders of America, where they can apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios through competitions.

Creative outlets are abundant as well, with clubs like Art Club, Photography Club, Drama Club and Choir. Students with a passion for writing and reading can connect with others in the Creative Writing and Book clubs.

Key Club, National Honor Society and Interact Club give students the chance to engage in community service and make a meaningful impact on local and global levels.

Bake My Day is a club where students bake goods to raise money for philanthropies, most recently the Rocky Mountain Crisis Collective. Abigail Graham, a 16-year-old junior, shared her enthusiasm: “I enjoy Bake My Day as it allows me to make baked goods for charity and decorate and bake with friends.”

RCHS clubs are conducted and led by students with the guidance of a teacher sponsor. This structure empowers students to take charge, while fostering essential leadership and organizational skills.

Clubs generally meet weekly or monthly, depending on schedule and activities. Some even take students off campus to participate in community events, competitions or field trips.

For students looking to get involved, attending a club meeting or reaching out to a club leader is a great way to start. For more information visit rockcanyonjags.com and search “clubs,” or go to www.sites.google.com/dcsdk12.org/rcactivities/home.
