BellaRock Adventures plans many summer outdoor events for women

by Carin R. Kirkegaard

BellaRock Adventures, in its fifth year of providing women’s outdoor adventures for the Castle Pines community, is gearing up for summer with BellaRock’s signature event the “Women’s Tenderfoot 14’er Training Class.”

Beginning in a classroom setting on June 5, hikers will be given information about what gear to have when hiking a 14’er, including clothing, food, water as well as how to leave no trace while hiking. BellRock’s resident exercise physiologist will also provide prepared exercise workouts designed to prepare the hiker for the 14’er.

Once the classroom meeting is complete, participants will meet with BellaRock guides for three training hikes along the front range. The hikes will include nature meditation and Tai Chi along the trail.

The class culminates on July 12 with climbing Grays Peak, the tallest peak along the Continental Divide.

The experience and camaraderie of completing a 14’er with other women is amazing,” said Saralyn Crock, BellaRock Lead Guide and Owner.

BellaRock has many other adventures in addition to the 14’er training class. Day hikes, hut trips and snowshoeing trips are all available. Crock chooses which adventures to offer based on the best of what nature has to offer. Crock will also customize a trip. Each guide with BellaRock has more than 20 years of backcountry experience.

“BellaRock is so much more than hiking. We are empowering, meditating, exercising, respecting the great outdoors and helping others realize their dreams,” continued Crock.
