Eagle Scout delivers on a promise

Remember Cale Williams? He is the 17-year-old Rock Canyon High School senior from the Forest Park neighborhood who shared his story of faith, friendship and overcoming cancer with The Connection in 2022. He wanted to say thank you to all those who rallied and prayed alongside him.

This fall, Cale decided his Eagle Scout project would raise money and collect toys for the children who were going through their own walk with cancer at the hospital that cared so much for him, Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (RMHC).

Cale’s project was a huge success. He collected more than 465 toys from 90 generous donors, adding up to a value of more than $5,300.

“A total stranger donated $100 toward the project after seeing the story in The Castle Pines Connection,” said Cale.

Another stranger, Mo, received a door hanger about the project and was so touched he wrote a letter to Cale saying he too had survived cancer and made a donation encouraging Cale to keep up the service to others.

HOA1 resident and nurse Kendra Colt, who helped care for Cale during his time at RMHC, delivered donations for Cale’s project.

Cale thanks everyone for their big hearts and hopes these pictures give a little glimpse into the impact our neighbors made in the lives of kids battling cancer.
